Jerrid Fossold and Brett Burrows each had two goals and one assist. Trevor Donaldson, Brandon Stewart and Cameron Hoskins had singles for the Bulldogs. Defencemen Dan Skinner and Logan Swanton both scored, with Skinner also getting an assist. Jordan Caskenette had two assists and singles went to Kaleb Martin, Freiburger and Feigehen. The Mount Forest Patriots did some wheeling and dealing last week. They sent 16-year-old forward Luke Eurig to the Elmira Junior B team, and 17-year-old defenceman Payton McIsaac to the Waterloo Junior B team. Their biggest move was to bring Blair Butchart back from the St. Mary’s Lincoln’s. Blair was a top scorer in the Pollock Division a couple years ago. He led St. Mary’s in scoring last year with nine goals and 47 assists to win the league MVP. This year the Lincoln Captain led the team in scoring with six goals and 20 Sassists. He started out with four goals and two assists in his first two games with Mount Forest.
Silver Stick is always an exciting time of year. Our Miller Insurance midgets lost a tough one in Wingham on Sunday, 3-0 to Twin Centres. The tough thing about this loss was they defeated Twin Centres 5-3 in the round robin. The team started last Thursday night with a 5-0 win against Hanover, and on Saturday morning defeated Twin Centres 5-3. In the afternoon the team defeated south Huron 4-2. The Sunday morning game finished with a 3 – 1 win, and the final game was a difficult loss as Twin Centres scored on a penalty shot and into an empty net.
The Ripley Wolves won their only game of the weekend 5-1 in Lucknow. Adam Alexander lead the way with three goals. Singles went to Blake Nichol and Nick Seiler. Assists went to Garrett Meurs (2) and Jordan Turcotte (2), Keaton Willis, Dylan Sayle and Jarred Colling. Jason Hamilton picked up the win in net. The Wolves play this Friday night in Elora. The Wolves have signed Gatlin Burt, as its goalie, Ryan Mac Donald, is having knee problems.
