These girls are golden!

Marg Starr, Mary Faubert, MaryAnne Daly and Linda Snyder, aka the Golden Girls, decided to celebrate while supporting the community, at a party marking their 75th birthday. The women hosted a drop-in tea at Faubert’s home on Aug. 15, and in lieu of gifts accepted donations of food and money for the Kincardine Food Bank and Huron Shores Hospice. The fabulous foursome created 75 brilliantly hand-painted sunflowers, which were sold in support of the two organizations. (Tammy Schneider photo)

Dog days of summer

Abraham Brodati, 1 1/2 , and Oliver Brodati, 3 1/2, took the business of cooling off into their own hands by enjoying a splash in the Victoria Park fountain. The boys, along with their mother and grandmother, came to the park on Saturday morning to visit Kincardine’s first Indigenous market. (Tammy Schneider photo)

Anchors away!

Back to school ….. Rain didn’t dampen the spirits of students returning to school after a six-month absence, with many calling out the names of friends and teachers as they entered the playground. At St. Anthony’s School, the first wave of students, with surnames A – L, arrived at school on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The students were instructed to physically distance outside and report to the balloon colour representing their class. Once the class gathered, students were escorted inside. The process was repeated on Sept. 10 for students with surnames M-Z. (Tammy Schneider photo)
