The Miller Insurance Midgets went undefeated this past weekend, at the Archie McMillan hockey tournament. They defeated Hanover on Friday night 3-0. On Saturday, they defeated Shallow Lake 8-0 and tied Huntsville 3-3. That would lead to a semi-final matchup with Huntsville. Kincardine won this game 5-0 against an undisciplined Huntsville team. The final was a close game as they defeated South Huron Shores 2-1. Head coach Mike Fair said it was a solid team effort all weekend, with John Graham playing really well in the Kincardine net. The Midgets are off to a great start, winning two games and tying two league games, before this tournament.

The Bulldogs lost its only game of the weekend in Mount Forest on Friday night, with a score of 4-3. General Manager Warren Beisel said they played their best period of the year, to tie the score 3-3 heading into the third period. They outshot a good Mount Forest team 20-12 in the second period. The Patriots scored the only goal of the third period to take a 4-3 win. Bryce McFadden, Logan Freiburger and Trevor Donaldson scored for the Bulldogs. Brett Burrows and Jordan Caskenette added assists.
Kaleb Martin scored a goal and added an assist in the Prospect Games last Saturday in New Hamburg. The Bulldogs host Goderich on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. and travel to Mitchell on Saturday night.

The Ripley Wolves won its only game on the weekend. They defeated Shallow Lake 7-2. Brett Catto led the way with two goals and two assists. Single goals went to Nick Seiler, Jarred Colling, Cody Britton, Garrett Meurs and Dan Nicoloff. Assists went to Blake Nichol, Meurs, Gerrit Satosek-2, Seiler, Britton and Adam Alexander. Jason Hamilton and Ryan MacDonald shared the net. The Wolves play at home this Saturday against what looks like a good Shelburne team at 7 p.m.
