After coaching high school hockey for 15 years, I know how hard it is to get to OFSAA, especially in team sports. The KDSS boys baseball team travelled to Simcoe last week and defeated the home team 2-0. Thomas Harmsworth threw a complete game 3 hitter against a really good team to lead the local team to OFSAA this week in Belle River.
Hockey Canada has a rule for Junior hockey in Ontario that all champions have to be decided by June 1st.
The GOHL had a best of three final this past week with the St. Catherines Falcons defeating the Chatham Maroons 2 games straight.
In the Centennial Cup, Brooks Bandits from Alberta defeated the Pickering Panthers 4-1 in the final. The event was held in Estevan-Saskatchewan with 10 teams starting on May 19th and the final game this past Sunday. The BC league has dropped out of the Canadian Championship. It used to be called the RBC cup.
The PJHL wrapped up a couple of weeks ago with Belle River defeating Clarington in the final, 3-2 in overtime.
