Canadian soccer has never been in a better place that it is now. When John Herdman was hired to lead the women’s national team, it was the smartest coaching move in Canadian soccer history. He led the Canadian women’s team to the top of the women’s league and now he is doing the same for the men. The men’s team just qualified for the world cup in Qatar, this coming November. We all know when the World Cup is on, as so many countries in Canada are represented with many flags and parties when their team plays. It will not matter what time the games are, there will be a party somewhere celebrating. The professional men’s soccer league in Canada has helped develop so many good young players in our country. When you watch the TFC in Toronto play and see the new local Canadian players, you know our chances at the World Cup are real. It should be a gold mine for bars and restaurants across Canada when this event is on. This should be our first of many trips to the World Cup.
