The Ripley Wolves traveled to Petrolia on Friday night and came home with a 5-2 win.
Gatlin Burt was really good in net, stopping 30 shots. Cody Britton, Brett Catto and Brett Burrows scored one each and Garrett Meurs scored two goals to lead the way.
The Wolves host Saugeen Shores this Saturday night at 7 p.m. This will be a great game to watch between two top teams. Tavistock is leading the league with four wins and two losses. Clinton is 3-0. Ripley is 2-0 along with a good looking Seaforth team. It should be an interesting season in senior hockey.
The Bulldogs lost both games this past weekend. They lost 2-1 in Wingham on Friday night. Parker Miller scored the only goal on the power play with Steve Grant and Bryce McFadden assisting.
Saturday night at home, the Hanover Barons defeated Kincardine 6-1. Jordan Beisel scored the only goal on the power play.
The Bulldogs have one away game this Friday, in Hanover at 8 p.m.
Lots of interesting story lines in the NHL this season. One big one is if the NHL will go to the Olympics. I personally hope they go. It is great hockey to watch and it is nice to see the best Canadian players compete in the Winter Olympics.
The Atlantic division should be interesting with Toronto, Tampa Bay. Florida and Boston the favorites for playoffs. This counts out Montreal for now. Buffalo and Detroit have good young teams that will contend someday soon.
Edmonton should battle with Las Vegas for their division championship. There are some bad teams in that division.
