Obituary – Thea Rothammer

THEA ROTHAMMER

Thea Marie Rothammer passed peacefully in the presence of her family in Kincardine on Aug. 6, 2019, aged 94 years.
Thea (Oma) was born on March 28, 1925, in Hamburg, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1952, following her husband Karl.
Thea was dedicated to raising her four daughters and supporting Karl’s career as a master woodcarver.
Predeceased by her loving husband Karl, her eldest daughter Angelika and sons-in-law Loren, Mark, Peter and Fergie.
She is survived by Angelika Godbold’s children, Paul and Adrian (Julie); Monika Haakmeester-Sanchez (Robert) and her children Carl, Chelsea, Christel, Andrew, David and Daniel; Gabriele Palubiski and her children Dionne (Roy) Felder; Dan (Megan) Palubiski and Natalie (Charles) Hatt; and Mary (Les) Sluggett and her children Thea, Laura and Maria. Thea was a proud Oma of 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Goderich.

The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to all of those who cared for Oma, including Dr. Gary Gurbin, the staff of RVilla in Ripley and the staff at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre.
