SYBIL STRAKER

It is with great sadness that the family of Sybil Straker (née Sybil Rollings) announces her passing in Sarnia ON, on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024.
Sybil leaves behind her daughter Gail, son Doug, daughter-in-law Denise, 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Sybil was born in Toronto in 1935. During her lifetime, she moved several times with her second husband Tony Straker to towns like Orangeville, Belgrave and Wingham, finally settling in Kincardine.
Sybil was a member of the Kincardine Legion and over her life had membership at both St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Grace Lutheran Church.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and volunteer work for organizations like the Day Away Program and at Trillium Court, where Sybil spent a year as a resident.
A funeral service to honour Sybil’s life will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine in the spring of 2025.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Red Cross Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
