SHIRLEY BROOKS
Shirley Frances Brooks of Lucknow passed away at Wingham Hospital on Dec. 21, 2019, at the age of 92.
She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Brooks, who predeceased her in 2015.
Shirley was born in Ashfield Township on July 9, 1927, to the late Annie (Fitzgerald) and James Culbert.
She will be greatly missed by her children: Ruth Savage of Kincardine, Don & Lynn Brooks of Lucknow, and Kathy & Jim Dickson of Kincardine.
Lovingly remembered by her 13 grandchildren: Travis (Melissa) Remington, Cailyn (Chris) Norris, Meagan (Nick) Chammoun, Brad Savage (Julie), Blair Savage (Ashley), Alexa (Jeremy) McQuillen, Tyler (Sarah) Brooks, Dani (Luke) Lindsay, Brendan Dickson (Paisley), Ashley Dickson (Mike), Mitch Dickson, Josh (Robin) Johnston and Lindsay (Jason) Needham; and by her 22 great-grandchildren.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her daughter Janice Remington, her son-in-law Don Savage, her brother Gerald Culbert and her sisters Beatrice Will and Jean Teeft.
Visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Lucknow from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2019. The funeral service was conducted at the chapel at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019. Her grandsons acted as pallbearers, while her granddaughters were flower bearers.
Donations to the Wingham & District Hospital Foundation or the Lucknow United Church were appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
Spring interment in Greenhill Cemetery.
