RUTH EYRE
1931-2022

Ruth Louise Eyre (née Brown) of Kincardine passed away peacefully on Aug. 27, 2022, in her 92nd year.
Beloved wife of Don for 67 years.
Loving mother of Doug (Carrie) and Maureen.
Predeceased by daughter Carol, infant grandson Mark and parents Elmer and Florence Brown. Also predeceased by Don’s parents Will and Doris Eyre, and by brothers and sisters-in-law Ken and Donna Eyre, Janet and Bob Thompson, Bob, Sandra and Kathryn Eyre.
Ruth was loved by her nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a 1952 graduate of the Sarnia General Hospital School of Nursing and worked in Sarnia, Regina, Edmonton and Scarborough as the family moved across Canada with Don’s work. During her retirement in Kincardine, Ruth was a respected volunteer for many years in the palliative care community. She was an active member of the Kincardine United Church, including the UCW, for 35 years. Ruth enjoyed reading, travelling and knitting, but most of all spending time with Don, her family and friends. Ruth touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Gord Dunbar officiating.
Final resting place: Kincardine Cemetery.
