ROY PAUL

Joseph “Roy” Paul of Point Clark passed away at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre -Kincardine on Monday, Dec. 16, 2019, with his beloved wife Marilyn, family and Rocky by his side, in his 87th year.
Cherished father of Michael (Monika) Paul, Gayle (Merv) Buck and William Paul.
Roy was predeceased by beloved sons, Patrick and James Paul.
Roy’s brother Bruce Paul, sister Patricia Baker and the many members of his extended family will carry fond memories of him forever.
Marilyn and her family will sorely miss him.
Roy received outstanding care and compassion from Dr. Lisa Roth and all the dedicated nurses and support staff as they eased him and his family, including Rocky, through this difficult journey.
Having always been an active person, Roy found many ways to express his joy of life. As a young man, sailing, handball, squash and darts released his competitive nature. His life in Point Clark brought him new sports – bowling and shuffleboard – and good friends in the Huron Lakeshore Friendship Club. Baseball with the Do Over Gang yielded more good fun and friends.
Visitation was held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine. The memorial service followed at 2 p.m., with Rob Hiscox officiating.
Final resting place: Pine River United Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to World Animal Protection Canada (90 Eglington Ave. East, Suite 960, Toronto, ON M4P 2Y3) or the Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial available online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
