RON KIRCHEL
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Ron Kirchel of Kincardine is finally resting in peace after a courageous lengthy illness, at the age of 83. He passed away on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, with his wife Pauline and palliative doctor Dr. Gunaratne at his side.
He was the loving father of Lesley (Iain) Stewart of Bowmanville and Sara Kirchel of Hamilton.
Dear grandfather of Alexa (Chris), Chelsea (Matt), Daniel and Rebecca (Kris) and great-grandfather of Emma and Thomas.
Survived by his brother William Kirchel, of England.
We, his family, extend a special thank you to Dr. Murray and Dr. Gunaratne for their wonderful care. Thanks also to Kathy and her wonderful volunteers for their support, love and care whilst at the Huron Shores Hospice (Tiverton). You helped us all stay strong with Dad’s end of life journey. Thank you to all of the staff at the Tiverton Park Manor for the care given to Dad and Mum. Thank you also to Kylie (Retire at Home) and her dedicated staff who helped us take care of Dad whilst we cared for him at home; you are truly doing a job you were meant to do. Special thank you to Dad’s friends – Alex for visits and many prayers, and Brian who visited every day. We will never forget all of your endless support, friendship and especially your humour that helped us get through every day.
Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. A memorial service to honour Ron’s life will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, with Pastor Gord Dunbar officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Huron Shores Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial available online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
