PEARL MacKAY


Pearl MacKay of Ripley passed away at University Hospital in London on Dec. 1, 2020, at the age of 93.
She was the beloved wife of Allister MacKay for 71 years.
Dear mother of Judy Finlayson of Walkerton, Nancy (Edward) Brown of Lucknow, Margaret (Kevin) Moorehouse of Calgary, Elizabeth (Dennis) Fry of Cargill and Allison (Paul) Wilken of R.R. #1, Kincardine.
Missed by her 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Annie (Schuknecht) and Daniel Kobe, her brothers Ken, Dave, Harry and Dan, sister Ruby Schmidt and son-in-law Bill Finlayson.
Pearl was a busy farm wife and mother. She developed a keen interest in art and was an exceptional artist herself. Her talents included oil painting, making and painting china, folk art and painting Christmas ornaments. She was also very interested in family history and spent hours researching family trees and genealogy. This led her to become a long-time member of the Bruce County Historical Society. Her greatest joys were her grandkids. She always wanted to know how all the kids were and what they were up to.
A public visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.
A private family funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 4. 2020, with interment at the Ripley Cemetery, officiated by Ruth MacLean.
