Obituary – Paul Pickett

KENNETH PAUL PICKETT

Kenneth Paul Pickett of Kincardine passed away at home on Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, in his 82nd year.
Beloved father of Mace (Kimberly) of Richmond Hill, Kyle (Monica) of Ottawa, and Adyn (Becky) of Whitby. Grandfather to Joshawa, Daniel, Mia, Marco, Elizabeth and Sawyer.
He will be missed by his siblings: Larry (Roseanne) Pickett of Port Elgin and Nancy Pickett of London.
Predeceased by his parents Ken and Dorothy Pickett.
Paul owned and operated a men’s clothing store on Main Street in Kincardine for 32 years. He played hockey for the Kincardine Old Stars for 30 years, plus also enjoyed baseball and golf. Paul was well-known in the business community in Kincardine and would always take the time to chat whenever he came across a familiar face around town.
Paul’s pride and joy was a Train Caboose located on a 96-acre property near Kincardine where he gardened, had campfires, walked through the trails and cut firewood.
When Paul retired in 2002, his passion turned to travel. He traveled to most countries in the world plus worked as a volunteer in Haiti, Dominican Republic, Malawi and Bolivia.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 183, Kincardine.
