Obituary – Murray Miller

MURRAY MILLER, P.Eng.
1934 – 2021

Everest Murray Miller passed away on Nov. 22, 2021 at London University Hospital.
Murray was born July 22, 1934 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to William Johnston and Hilda May Miller (née Everest).
Survived by his sister Hilda Fay Archibald of Langley, B.C.; sons William, John and Barry, all of Ontario; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his brother William Langdon and spouse Jane Elizabeth (née Goodison).
Murray grew up in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario. He graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto in May of 1958. “Hoot” Miller was a brother of Phi Kappa Sigma.
He started his working career in the chemical industry in Toronto and Sarnia, before joining Ontario Hydro at the Bruce Nuclear Power Development in 1970. He retired from Hydro in 1993 and continued to enjoy life in Kincardine.
Murray will be remembered for his love of the detailed planning of his many personal projects, a love of travelling, Dixieland jazz music and spending time at the cottage. He was a notorious “teaser” and his playful ribbing will be missed by all.
Special thanks to the management, staff and residents of Trillium Court in Kincardine for making life so comfortable and interesting over his last few years. Thanks also to the doctors and nurses at the Kincardine and London University hospitals for their care in his final hours.
A celebration of life will be arranged for a later date.
Please help support the Heart and Stroke Foundation in their search to cure heart disease.
