MILDRED RUTH BURROWS
May 27, 1933 – May 1, 2024
Millie Burrows peacefully passed away at Trillium Court in Kincardine on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in her 91st year.
Millie is survived by her daughter Judy (Bill) Lackner, daughter Linda Schinkel and daughter in-law Marg Burrows (the late Ed 2023).
Also survived by grandchildren: Rodger (Carrie) Lackner, Terri (James) Kieswetter, Michelle (Derek) Villemaire, Rob (Corby) Burrows, Robin Strohoff (Phil Minnie), Darrell (Amy) Schinkel, and Krystal Schinkel. Greatly missed by her great-gandchildren: Alex, James, Nicholas, Andrew, Brett, Justin, Nick, Payton, Matt and Ashley and her great-great-grandchildren Milo, Ayla and Myles.
Survived by brother-in-law Norman Liddle of Kincardine, sister-in-law Lea Ashton (Bob) of Port Elgin, sister-in-law Carol Burrows of Kincardine, brother-in-law Ron Burrows (Barb) of Kincardine and sister-in -law Sharon Chapel (Dave) of Port Elgin. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents William and Georgina Pinnell, brother Baby Pinnell (1937), brother Glenn (Bea Pinnell), brother Wray (Mae Pinnell), sister Dorothy (Ron Dishman), sister Ena (Jack Hill), brothers-in-law Donald, Wayne, Bruce, Bill, John and Claire Burrows and sisters-in-law Margarite Burrrows and Kathryn Liddle.
Millie was predeceased by the love of her life and life-long partner Bob. They owned and operated Burrows signs for over 50 years. They also owned and operated Elmira Taxi and Millie drove a school bus for over 30 years. The school kids loved Millie and she loved them. Millie was also a proud Legion member for more than 50 years. She was the last surviving member of her generation.
Many thanks to Trillium Court and their wonderful staff in Kincardine. Although she suffered from dementia the last few years of her life, she loved the staff at Trillium Court and they loved her.
The family received relatives and friends on Monday, May 6, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 62 Arthur St. S., Elmira.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 in the funeral home chapel, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Elmira. A reception followed at the Elmira Legion, 11 First St. E., Elmira.
