MARY E. CULBERT

After a short illness, Mary Elizabeth Culbert (née Macpherson) of Ripley passed away peacefully at SBGHC – Kincardine on May 30, 2020, in her 87th year.
Loving mother of Helen Orr (Dale) of Kincardine, Paul (Ethel) of Woodbridge and Ian (Gilles, Justin and Nadia) of Ottawa; cherished grandmother of Nolan, Brendan, and Matthew; sister to Sandy Macpherson (Oshawa).
She was predeceased by Murray Culbert, her beloved husband of 63 years, in September 2018.
Also predeceased by her brother John of Vancouver.
Born in Kincardine to Frank and Ella Macpherson, Mary was an unlikely candidate for a farmer’s wife in Huron Township. She took up the challenge – and excelled at it. She loved to spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a fantastic cook and baker; her butter tarts were the best! And only her immediate family knew just how funny she could be. She will be missed immensely.
A private funeral and internment ceremony has been held at the Ripley-Huron Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
