MARGARET REID

Margaret Elizabeth Reid (née Scott) passed away at the Starwood Nursing Home in Nepean, Ontario on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, in her 105th year.
She was the beloved wife of the late Eldred Reid.
She is survived by: her daughters Irene Nesbitt and Hazel (Joe Murphy) Reid, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Margaret was born on Jan. 28, 1917, in Kincardine Township to Thomas Scott and Esther Lindsay.
Her known family was: Samuel, Walter, William, Robert, Andrew and John Scott, Amelia McLeod-Cummings and Esther Collins.
She married Eldred Reid on Nov. 28, 1934. They lived on three different farms in Kincardine Township before moving to Tiverton in 1969.
During her active life, she loved her garden and the many crafts she did. Her interests were the Tiverton Agricultural Society, Women’s Missionary Society of Knox Presbyterian Church in Tiverton and she was a 70-year member of the Eastern Star.
When she was 80, she moved into Trillium Court. At the age of 90, she went to live with her daughter Irene in Ottawa. For the past nine years, she has been in the nursing home. Margaret was loved by the staff there and her visitors over the years. She was active until the last three days of her life.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine.
Final resting place: Kincardine Cemetery.
