KATHERINE MacDONALD

Katherine Anne MacDonald, of Kitchener, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener, at the age of 76.
She was born on Nov. 3, 1944, in Kincardine. Beloved daughter of the late Hazel (Mundell) and James C. MacDonald.
Survived by her brothers Donald (Elma) MacDonald and Allan (Sandra) MacDonald, all of Ripley.
Also greatly missed by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Predeceased by her brother Douglas.
Katherine “Kathy” was a dedicated secretary for the Ontario government’s OFFRA office in Guelph for 36 years.
She was kind-hearted and a devoted lady to her family and friends. Katherine added the “spark” to any social gatherings. Kathy was on committees for the church and was involved with the Ontario Plowmen’s Association IPM 2012. She loved coming home for functions in Ripley (i.e. Ripley Fall Fair and dinners). Her talent for tole painting was admired at craft shows around Kitchener-Waterloo and Ripley. We will miss her greatly.
A private funeral service will be held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley, with interment to follow at the Ripley Cemetery.
Donations to St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Kitchener, Camp Kummoniwannago youth camp, the Ripley Lions Club or the Ripley Agricultural Society are greatly appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
