JOHN “BARRY” MacSWEEN
1949 – 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John “Barry” MacSween on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine.
Barry was born in Kincardine on Feb. 13, 1949 to Kenneth MacSween and Cathleen Barry.
He leaves behind his wife Bev and her children Carrie and Lloyd Williams, Jeremy and Heather Betzner and their families.
He will be missed by his siblings Maria and Casey Kalvaitis, Bill and Bev MacSween, Margie and Duncan McGill, Pat and Greg McLean and their families.
Barry worked in the aviation industry for all his life – first as a mechanic, then as a commercial pilot for Tim Horton’s, and finally as the Operational Manager of the John C. Munroe International Airport. Upon his retirement Barry moved back to his hometown Kincardine.
The family would like to thank the staff at Rosewood R-Villa Senior Living and Doctors Thomson and Murray for their care these last few years.
Cremation has occurred.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion – McDonald Branch 183 in Kincardine.
Barry will be buried in the Kincardine Cemetery, alongside of his parents.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barry’s memory to the Canadian War Plane Heritage Museum or the Poppy Fund at the Royal Canadian Legion – McDonald Branch 183, Kincardine.
