JOAN WOOD

Joan Mary Wood (née Woodrow), of Kincardine, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in her 94th year.
Beloved wife of Stanley Wood, who predeceased her in September 2009.
Lovingly remembered by her daughters: Jennifer Webb (John) and Christine Wood, all of Kincardine; and Margaret Breen (Kevin) of Florida.
Missed by her grandchildren: Natalie (Joe), Rachel (Josh), Vanessa (Mike), Jordan (Rebecca) and Nicholas (Brittany); and by her great-grandchildren: Blake, Nolan, Levi, Owen, Riley and Mason.
Joan is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brothers, John and Roy Woodrow.
Joan and Stan, along with their three daughters, emigrated from England in 1963. Joan retired from Ontario Hydro after service in Sudbury and Toronto. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in London, was Queen of the Raspberry Tarts Red Hats and volunteered with the Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop for more than 20 years.
Many thanks to Dr. Gunaratne and Dr. Hess for their guidance, and to the nurses at Care Partners. Special thanks to Dr. Daniel Soong for the wonderful care he gave Joan over the past years.
A celebration of Joan’s life is being planned for August, when we can safely gather to reminisce and share stories of Joan; the date, location and time will be announced when confirmed.
