JOAN RITCHIE

Joan Frances Ritchie, formerly of Kincardine, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at The Village of Tansley Woods long-term care in Burlington, in her 83rd year.
Beloved mother of Scott (Vivette) of Milton, Rob (Jane) of South Elgin, Illinois, and Daniel of Hamilton. Grandmother to Kyla, Emma, Benjamin, and Matthew.
Joan will be missed by her brother Doug (Vicky) Pollock of Waterloo, Anne Astles of Blind River, sister-in-law Glenna (Jack) Feir of Pennsylvania, brother-in-law Drew (Gayle) Ritchie of Victoria, BC, and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Bill, brother-in-law Peter Astles, parents-in-law Jim and Ina Ritchie, and her parents Carl and Jean (née Grant) Pollock.
Joan dedicated her life to serving others and was deeply involved as a volunteer in many community organizations such as Eastern Star, United Church Women, United Church Choir, Canadian Cancer Society, Community Living, and Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary. In 2017, Joan was awarded a Provincial Life Membership in the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario by the Premier for long-standing and reliable service. Joan’s unwavering commitment and enthusiasm to volunteering left a lasting impact on everyone she worked with and every cause she supported.
Visitation was held from 12 to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at the Kincardine United Church on Friday, May 23, 2025, with a reception to follow.
Interment in Kincardine Cemetery.
