Obituary – Joan Barr

JOAN BARR
1936-2022

Joan Margaret (née Hamilton) Barr passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton on Dec. 7, 2022 in her 87th year.
She was the cherished wife of the late Jack Barr, who predeceased her in 2010.
She leaves behind her daughters: Jeannette (Gary) Fair of Kincardine and Susan (Henry) Van de Klippe of Kincardine, and her son Murray (Michele) Barr of Kinlough.
Missed by her grandchildren: Jason (Meagan), Lisa (Des), April (Mike), Jeffrey, Kyle (Madi) and Chad (Tonia) and her great-grandchildren: twins Ethan & Evelyn, Jackson and Patrick.
Also survived by her siblings Betty, Bruce (Margaret), Don, and Ross (Terri) Hamilton and her in-laws Eileen and Donald Barr, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Jane (Buckton) & Gilbert Hamilton and by her in-laws John & Cora Barr, Doris & Morley Bushell, Russell, Barbara, Trixie and Percy Barr.
Joan was raised on the 4th Concession of Kinloss. She loved working on the farm with Jack. She was a faithful member of the Kinlough Presbyterian Church where she was the organist and treasurer for a number of years. She loved to quilt. She worked as a Home Care provider for many residents around the community and was always available to talk.
Due to Covid, a private family funeral will be held at MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Lucknow.
Interment Greenhill Cemetery.
