Obituary – Jean Dobison

JEAN DOBISON
Aug. 3, 1931 – Sept. 5, 2021

Jean (née Cuyler) Dobison passed away in Destin, Florida, with her family by her side, at the age of 90 years.
Beloved wife of George Dobison for 60 years.
Cherished mother of Dan (Mari) Dobison and Denise (Carlo) Zulueta, and loving grandmother of Nissa and Jack Zulueta, all of Florida.
Survived by her siblings: Joyce (Harold) Duke, of Kincardine; Bill (Pauline) Cuyler, of Sarnia; and David (Joyce) Cuyler, of Kincardine.
Predeceased by her parents, Jack and Kathleen (née Ferrier) Cuyler; brothers Clifton Cuyler and Bob Cuyler; and sister Milena (Bill) Lobb.
Jean grew up on her parent’s family farm near Kinloss. She attended Kincardine District High School.
She enjoyed several careers during her life – beginning as a school teacher for three years at Poplar Beach, Ontario and then Durham, Ontario for six years as a Kindergarten teacher. She travelled to the United States to become a Capital Airlines flight attendant, working until she was married in 1961. She later went back to school to become a nurse, working in oncology for 19 years, until 1991. During her years in the United States, she resided in Virginia, South Florida, Colorado and Hawaii before retiring in the Florida Panhandle.
Although Jean has passed, the wonderful memories of the energy and spirit she shared with her family and friends will survive.
