ALLAN IRWIN

Robert “Allan” Irwin of Ripley passed away on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Brucelea Haven in Walkerton, at the age of 87.

He was born in Kincardine on April 17, 1931, to the late Catherine (Blue) and Lloyd Irwin.

Beloved husband of Helen Irwin (Cerson) for 66 years.

Greatly missed by his children Kathryn (Kathy) Irwin of London, Joan Irwin of Richmond Hill, Connie (Jerry) Zrini of London and Paul Irwin (Ingrid Wypkema) of Point Clark; and by his grandchildren Andrew and Katelyn Paquette and Rachael and Emily Zrini.

Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allan worked for his cousin Stewart Reavie in Lucknow and the Township of Huron. He was involved in Ripley minor hockey and baseball. Allan did extensive history on the Blues, McLennans, Irwins and Reavies. In retirement he did woodcarving and refinished old furniture. Visitation was held at the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019. The funeral service was conducted from the chapel on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, at 1:30 p.m. with visitation for one hour prior. The officiant was Marsha Roberts and pallbearers were Norman Liddle, Ron Phair, Andrew Paquette, Peter McDonald, Doug Martyn and Calvin Cerson.

Spring interment Ripley Cemetery.
