GORDON W. YOUNG
1950 – 2022

Gordon Young passed away on Aug. 6, 2022 at Riverview Gardens in Chatham.
Survived by his wife Anna Clare (née Stuart), his sons Paul (Brandi) and Mike (Sanaa), grandsons Emerson and Tyler as well as his mother-in-law Mary Gough, sister Edna Park of Calgary, brother Dave (Myrna) of Thorndale, sister-in-law Marjorie Young of Kincardine and brothers-in-law John (Gladys) Stuart and Tom (Cathy) Stuart. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and Aunt Lu of Leamington, Aunt Olive in Barrie and his fur companion Shelby.
Gord was predeceased by his parents Alexander (1958) and Isobelle (1961); sisters Florence (1940), Margaret (1941), Johinia (1974), Joyce (1989) and Dorothy (2010); brothers Ross (1990) and Lloyd (2013). Also predeceased by sister-in-law Mary Young, brothers-in-law Ray Arthur and Wilbur, and by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gord was a long haul owner-operator and delivered most of his loads to Texas on a weekly basis, working with Frederick’s Transport, JP Transport, SM Freight, Carey Leasing and several others throughout his 50 year career.
Those wishing to make memorial donations in Gord’s name are asked to please consider the Alzheimer Society, the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Visitation was held at Life Transitions, 397 McNaughton Ave. W., Chatham from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. A graveside service followed at Lakeview Cemetery in Leamington. Attending the services from this area were Kenneth Young, Kathleen Young, Karen Bertin, Catherine Elmes, Kitt Elmes and Marjorie Young.
