It’s with great sadness that the family of Donald “Danny” Mackenzie Boyd announces his passing on Oct. 28, 2021 at the Kincardine hospital.
Beloved husband of Mel Lomugda and daughter Fiona of Toronto.
He will be greatly missed by his children: Alicia (RJ Smiley), Christopher (Danielle Stephen), Natalie and Ashley (Teil Pitblado).
Survived by his parents Glenn and Anne Boyd of Kincardine.
Remembered by his siblings: Heather Boyd, Kathryn (Andris) Freimanis and Alec (Shannon) Boyd.
Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dan’s career with the Goderich Salt Mine spanned 40 years, but his true calling was farming. He raised sheep for many years, later cash cropping. He was proud to raise his kids on the farm. Dan enjoyed reading, spending time with his grandkids Klayton and Cayley, and enjoyed weekends in Toronto with his wife Mel.
The family would like to thank Ollie Regier and the staff at the Kincardine hospital for their compassionate end-of-life care, and sends a heartfelt thank you to family, friends and the community for the support, flowers and food deliveries.
Following Dan’s request, cremation has taken place.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the MacKenzie & McCreath Funeral Home, 12 Queen Street, Box 248, Ripley N0G 2R0; 519-395-2969; www.mackenzieandmccreath.com.
