CAROL LANDECK
Carol Anne Landeck (née Cox) of Kincardine passed peacefully, in her 73rd year, on Sept. 22, 2023 at Brucelea Haven Long-Term Care Home in Walkerton, after a long illness.
Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Landeck (2022) and wonderful aunt to Brian Cox and Katie Fiebrandt.
She was born on June 15, 1950 in Toronto to Carroll and Margaret Cox, originally from the Kincardine area. Carol grew up in the Toronto area, where she attended Weston Collegiate. She started her long and successful career at Shell Canada in 1970, holding various positions in management until her retirement in 2000.
In 1983, Carol was happily married to the love of her life, Bill Landeck. In 1995 they moved from Richmond Hill to Kincardine. In 2003, Carol and Bill moved to Lake Range Drive, where they enjoyed the beautiful lake view as well as hosting many family members and friends. It was here that Carol found her true passion: filling her days, caring for and spending time with the horses and cats at the farm owned by Todd and Shelley McGlynn, who became her life-long friends.
Carol was an incredibly caring and compassionate person. She was very genuine with a magnetic personality. Besides spending time with family, friends and the horses, Carol enjoyed cooking and creating meals and had a love for all animals and everything Paris. For 20 years, during the winter months, Carol and Bill travelled to Florida’s gulf coast, golfing nearly every day.
Carol will be greatly missed by her sister-in-law and best friend, Cheryl Cox, nephew Brian Cox, niece Katie Fiebrandt and her husband Tobi, great-niece Evelyn and great-nephew Fynn, and by her many friends in Toronto and Kincardine.
Predeceased by her husband William Landeck, parents Carroll and Margaret Cox (née McKay) and brother James Cox.
A private memorial service to honour Carol’s life will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home.
Final resting place: Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the SPCA would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial available online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
