Obituary – Bob Ferguson

BOB FERGUSON
1929-2020

Robert (Bob) Connely Fergusonpassed away peacefully at home, with family and friends by his side, on Saturday, April 11, 2020.
Left to mourn his passing are his beloved wife of 65 years, Shirley (Roberts) Ferguson; his life’s greatest achievements – daughter Kerri (Chris “Patsy” Patacairk) and his grandson Zackary (“Zack”). Also survived by his brothers-in-law Bob & Lee Roberts of Sarnia and by many nephews and nieces and their offspring.
He was predeceased by two infant sons, three brothers and six sisters.
Bob will be missed by his family, friends and the community. One of his passions was Big Brothers of Canada; as a “Big” in Sarnia, he earned “Big Brother of the Year.” Bob continued with his passion locally and was one of the founders of the Kincardine Big Brothers.
He was also a founding member of the Kincardine Probus Club. Bob was an active member of the Knox Presbyterian Church in Kincardine for 50 years and served on many committees during that time. Summer was his favorite time of year and brought with it the annual Scottish Festival, which he was part of for many years. Most Saturday nights you would find him on the front porch listening to bagpipes with offers of a drink to anyone passing by. Bob was a favorite of his daughter’s many friends who nicknamed him “Boober” many years ago and he still has that nickname today.
Bob was so grateful for the wonderful care he has received the past two years and the offers of help from so many friends. Special thanks to Dr. Denobriga and Dr. Gunaratne, Amy Fry of MacKenzie McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley, the VON, Care Partners (who were the most professional and caring women), our Knox Church family and our many friends and family.
Due to the COVID 19 restrictions, a celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at a later date.
