WILLIAN “BILL” STEWART
Willian James “Bill” Stewart passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2024 at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine with his wife Nancy “Nanner”, son Tad and special nephew Dan by his side, at the age of 73.
Bill was born on April 25, 1950 to Eldon and Mary Stewart of Kincardine. Bill worked at Bruce Power until he retired in 2002. Many of Bill’s friends, including George and Trevor, will have spent a moment or two in the Wee Factory solving the issues of the day.
Bill was often found down at the boardwalk – replacing, building or repairing the cement picnic tables or just about anything he deemed needed to be done. From there you would find him performing required maintenance at Ainsdale or Somerhill golf courses. When he was not working, Bill could be found playing a round of golf with his crew, “The Fossils” – Harold, Rod, Harry and Jim.
Over the years Bill enjoyed wintering in Florida and took many trips near and far with his soul mate, Nanner. Family was important to Billy, he made sure they had what they needed, always making time to help his boys and grandchildren, his family and friends. In later years, Billy and his friend Vern spent time checking out the market and Kincardine as they cruised around town on their scooters.
Survived by Nancy, his wife of 44 years and son Tad Stewart (Sohpia) of Sarnia, and daughter-in-law Jacay of Hay Lakes, Alberta. Proud Poppa of Taylor, Landon, Caiti, Kallista and Lachlan and great-grand Poppa of Haidon and Bennett.
Cherished brother of Sam (Vicki), Paul, John (Carol) and Darlene Murray (Don). Fondly remembered by in-laws: Jake and Betty Hunter, Brad and Faye Kirkconnell, Dennis and Connie Kirkconnell, Ken Collins, Kim Mann and by many nephews, nieces, family friends and neighbours.
Predeceased by his parents Eldon Stewart and Mary (née Surridge) and Rylla Stewart (née Farrell), son William Baren “Floop” Stewart, sisters Tricia, Sharon and Connie Jean, nephews Kent & Kert and best of pals Harold Maurer and Bill Johnson
