BILL LANDECK
William “Bill” Udo Landeck of Kincardine passed peacefully, in his 78th year, on Dec. 1, 2022 at Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Carol Landeck (née Cox), and second father to Brian Cox and Katie Fiebrandt.
Born on Jan. 21, 1945 in Germany, Bill immigrated to Canada when he was nine years old, arriving in Toronto with his parents, Marika and Walter.
In 1983, Bill happily married the love of his life, Carol Landeck (née Cox), who was his partner in life. Together, they started a beautiful life in Toronto. He worked at Sears and also drove a school bus for children with special needs. In 1995, Bill and Carol moved to Kincardine to be closer to Carol’s relatives.
Bill and Carol always sought to see the lake from their home and enjoy the serenity it brings. So in 2003, they moved to Lake Range Drive where they both enjoyed their beautiful lakeview, hosting friends and the company of many neighbours.
Bill was a man who was happy and content. Besides spending time with friends and family, Bill enjoyed travelling to Florida’s gulf coast in the winter, exercising and staying in shape, and talking with anyone and everyone. He was a gifted storyteller.
Bill is survived by his wife Carol. He will be greatly missed by sister-in-law and best friend, Cheryl Cox, nephew Brian Cox, niece Katie Fiebrandt and her husband Tobi; great-niece Evelyn and great-nephew Fynn; his special cousin and family from San Antonio; and a special cousin from Simcoe.
Predeceased by his parents Walter and Marika, and brother-in-law and best friend Jim Cox.
Private arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home.
Final resting place: Kincardine Cemetery.
Memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice or the Kincardine Hospital Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial available online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
