MARJORIE BATTLER
Marjorie Beatrice Battler (née Bullock) of Brantford passed away peacefully, with family beside her, at Brantford General Hospital on Jan. 22, 2019, at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of the late Elton Battler.
Loving mother of Don (Lynda) of Brantford, Brian (Bev) of Brantford, Ken (Marie) of Kincardine, and Keith (Linda) of Kincardine.
Greatly missed by her 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Dear sister of Mabel Zinn of Woodstock.
Predeceased by her parents Remington and Myra Bullock, brother Bob Bullock, and sister-in-law Betty.
Marjorie will be remembered for, among many other things, her enquiring mind and her many talents – from culinary arts and calligraphy to playing the piano and for, of course, her jokes (good or bad, they made us laugh). She loved life; she loved her family and she loved to be surrounded by people. Nothing pleased her more than to have a good conversation with someone on any topic – it didn’t matter – as long as she was conversing and sharing a thought or chuckle with someone else.
Marjorie had several physical ailments in her later years, but despite poor vision, poor hearing and being confined to a wheelchair, she always looked on the positive side of life without complaint. Hers was an indomitable spirit that embraced what each day had to offer and revelled in the sheer joy of life. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, relatives and her many friends.
Following Marjorie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life to remember Marjorie will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2019, at the Charing Cross Reception Suites, which are adjacent to Toll Funeral Home, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford, Ontario.
Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
