ALBINA ROY
With great sorrow, the family announces the passing of Albina Roy in Tiverton on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at the age of 93 years.
Wife of the late Moise Roy.
Daughter of the late Stanislas and Laura (née Simon) Bouffard.
Beloved mother of Daniel (Rhetha) and Carole Christian (Bruce Schmidt).
Predeceased by her siblings: Louis, Arthur (late Marie), Lina Porlier (late Jean), Omer (late Berthe), Henri (late Dilia), Edna Boulard (late Florent), Aline Duval (late Jules), Élise Labrosse (late Martial), Léona Boulard (late Aurèle), Emma Aubin (late Jean), Elizabeth Roy (late Alex), Lilliane Lachance (late Roland), and Lucille.
Cherished grandmother of Brent (Jolene), Michael (Denise), Jeremy and Jonathon (Krysia), and of her great-grandchildren: Mikayla, Sierra, Kaitlynn and Veda.
Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Albina lived most of her life with Moise in Sudbury, Ontario. Both were involved in their community and the L’Annonciation parish, where she was a long-time member of the church choir. As active members of Club Amical (Rue Lavoie), Albina championed the “craft and knitting” room, where wool socks were made a plenty, and hundreds were sold at the New Sudbury Fall Fair.
After the passing of her husband, Albina moved to Kincardine to be closer to her children. Here she got involved with the Red Hats and was treasurer for many years. Her favourite pastime was still knitting, reading, puzzles and watching the Young & the Restless. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Her ashes will join those of her husband Moise during a summer graveside burial service at the LaSalle Cemetery in Sudbury.
Memorial donations to Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Portrait and memorial available online at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
