MARIE COOPER
Marie Cooper (née Keith) passed away peacefully and with dignity at her home in Trillium Court in Kincardine on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020.
She had celebrated her 100th birthday in the company of her many friends and family members in August.
Marie and her late husband Jack (died 2003) farmed for many years on Concession 9, and their home was well-known for its hospitality. Her family admired her hard work and tenacity and will miss her love, kindness and generosity.
Survived by her sons Eldon (Brenda Fitzgerald) of Tillsonburg and “Donald” Carl (Betty) of Woodstock, her daughter Bonnie Colwell (Terry) of Kincardine and her “adopted” son Casey Pouw (Marcie) of Walkerton.
She held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren: Andrea & Mark, Michael, Dionne, Lisa & Emanuel, Dan & Sheila, Jo-Anne & Neil, Martha & Sam, and Terra; and for her 13 great-grandchildren.
Marie and Jack loved dancing and travelling. She also loved knitting, crocheting and bid euchre, but Marie will be best remembered for welcoming everyone into her home.
She dearly loved her Trillium Court family; in particular the staff, whose love for her was so generously reciprocated, especially in recent weeks.
Visitation and a Celebration of Life service was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home in Kincardine on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, officiated by Rev. Rob Hiscox.
In Marie’s memory, donations may be made to Kincardine & Community Health Care Foundation, or St. Matthew’s Anglican Church in Kingarf.
