On April 14, the Municipality of Kincardine announced financial measures to help ease the economic impact to taxpayers for the June 1 and September 1 tax installment dates. The Municipality will waive penalty and interest charges on 2020 billed taxes for the months of April, May, June and July for the interim installments, and September for the September 1 installment.
For utility billings, interest will be waived for April, May, June and July.
Options are available to defer taxpayers monthly or due date pre-authorized payment plans. For tax due date plans, there is an option to opt to delay the June 2 payment to August 1. For utility due date plans, North Route customers with a due date of April 30 now have the option to delay this payment to June 30. South Route customers with a due date of June 30 have the option to delay this payment to July 31. Alternatively, taxpayers can cancel their pre-authorized payment (PAP) and then make alternate arrangements to pay. To defer or cancel payments, the online PAP suspension form should be filled out and submitted. The form can be found at https://forms.kincardine.ca/Treasury/Pre-Authorized-Payment-Suspension-Form
Any NSF fees of $45 will be waived from April 1 to July 2 and statement fees of $5 will be waived from April to July.
If a postdated cheque for one of these due dates has already been sent to the municipality and the taxpayer wished it to be returned or destroyed, they should contact cashier@kincardine.ca. The retrieval fee of $18 will be waived for this service.
