Warren Howard, who became involved with the Multi Municipal Energy Working Group as a municipal councillor in North Perth and who has been involved for 10 years, made a presentation on battery projects at a recent meeting of Bruce County council. The group is best known for its work regarding
wind turbines, but has recently turned its attention to battery energy storage systems (BESS) facilities. As stated in the presentation, the group’s mandate expanded “when municipalities were asked to support BESS projects based on a minimum of information.” (By Pauline Kerr)
