Emergency crews respond to two fire calls in a 24-hour period

Emergency crews were busy over the Easter weekend, as they responded to two fire calls. Kincardine
Fire and Emergency Services (KFES), assisted by Ripley Huron Fire Department, OPP and Westario Power, attended a structure fire at the Kincardinite Motel on March 29. Upon arrival, crews found the
motel, along with a travel trailer, involved in the blaze. There were no reports of injuries among
those evacuated. Victim Services Bruce Grey Perth were on scene to help provide 12 displaced tenants
with emergency accommodations. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s consultation deemed the fire
was not suspicious in nature.
