Council approved the staff recommendation to authorize the warden and clerk to execute an agreement with West Ridge on the Lake Inc. (WROTL).

By signing the agreement, the county is committing to financially contributing towards the cost of certain infrastructure improvements to Bruce Road 23.

This consists of $10,000 toward improvements in 2021-22, plus a maximum of $300,000 including HST toward proposed infrastructure improvements in 2025-31.

Jim Donahoe, county engineering manager, said the agreement comes after several years. “An independent consultant confirmed $300,000 was reasonable,” he said. “We think we have a good document here.”

The WROTL work includes roadway alterations for turning lanes and accompanying sidewalk adjustments, and replacement of twin box culverts. The money amounts to one of the proposed two culverts.

While the county has assumed County Road 23, legal ownership of the road remains with Kincardine. The road’s ownership will be transferred.
