Happy birthday Mason! Mom Jessica Koch wanted to do something different to help her son Mason celebrate his birthday, as pandemic restrictions prevented a party or outing. She erected a big sign in front of their home in Tiverton and put a call out to the community to honk and wave as they drove by. Mason, who is now five-years-old, was thrilled with the response from friends, family and even strangers, who made some noise to mark his special day. (Submitted photo)

Back to school ….. Rain didn’t dampen the spirits of students returning to school after a six-month absence, with many calling out the names of friends and teachers as they entered the playground. At St. Anthony’s School, the first wave of students, with surnames A – L, arrived at school on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The students were instructed to physically distance outside and report to the balloon colour representing their class. Once the class gathered, students were escorted inside. The process was repeated on Sept. 10 for students with surnames M-Z. (Tammy Schneider photo)
