The Kincardine Bulldogs held an exhibition day event on Sept. 7 at the Davidson Centre, welcoming the Walkerton Hawks, Stayner Siskins and Exeter Hawks to participate in a four-game tournament. Single game or day passes were available for a small fee, and a 50/50 draw fundraiser was available, with proceeds donated to Kincardine Minor Soccer. Bulldogs president David Patterson said the pre-season tournament is a staple on the team’s hockey schedule. “It’s a great opportunity to get out and get an early look at your local Bulldogs team and see some teams from other areas that are from outside the division,” said Patterson. The team’s home opener is scheduled for Sat. Sept. 21, when the Bulldogs will take on the Wingham Ironmen. The puck will drop at 7:30 p.m. Hockey Day in Kincardine is scheduled for Oct. 5 at the Davidson Centre. Teams from Kincardine Minor Hockey and Saugeen Shores Minor Hockey will participate. A game featuring the Ripley Wolves is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and a Bulldogs game at 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment will begin at 11 a.m. Admission is by cash donation or a donation of a non-perishable food items for the Kincardine Foodbank. Raffle tickets will be available throughout the day.
