Bruce Power partners with Reckitt to distribute Lysol® disinfecting wipes

Reckitt, maker of Lysol® products, has donated a truckload of disinfecting wipes, which have been distributed to food banks, Indigenous communities and community organizations in Grey, Bruce and Huron counties. Bruce Power accepted the donation at its warehouse in Chesley, Ont., and facilitated delivery of the Lysol® wipes to community organizations across the region.

“This donation from Reckitt will have a positive impact on many organizations in our local region and we were proud to support its distribution to those who need it most,” said Kim Davison, division manager, site services at Bruce Power. “On behalf of the recipient organizations, I would like to thank Reckitt for this generous donation.”

Bruce Power distributed thousands of packages across the region, in consultation with the United Way of Bruce Grey, Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Saugeen First Nation, Métis Nation of Ontario, Historic Saugeen Métis, Kincardine Chamber and BIA and other organizations.

“As local communities across Canada are struggling to navigate the pandemic, Reckitt has been working to get Lysol® disinfecting wipes into the hands of those who need them most,” said Conor O’Brien, general manager at Reckitt Canada. “Starting with vulnerable communities who may not have the capability to purchase disinfecting products to keep their spaces safe, Reckitt has sought to reach food banks, shelters and other community-based charity groups. This mandate has been expanded to include charities and not-for-profits, as well as Indigenous community groups and all childcare centres and schools.”
