Ben Lobb wins federal seat in Huron-Bruce

Conservative – Incumbent candidate Ben Lobb received 30,373 votes or 51.4 per cent of votes cast

Liberal – candidate James Rice received 15,118 votes or 25.6 per cent of votes cast

NDP – candidate Jan Johnstone   received 8,718 votes or 14.7 per cent of votes cast

People’s Party – candidate Jack Stecho received 4,392 votes or 7.4 per cent of votes cast

Independent – candidate Justin L Smith received 509 votes or .9 per cent of votes cast

Total number of valid votes – 59,110 of 87,978 electors – not including electors who registered on election day.  Voter turnout – 67.19 percent

As of 1:32 a.m. on Sept. 21, 99.63 per cent of polls had reported results.
