DAVID BURNS
(July 14, 1948 – June 17, 2025)

David Howard Burns passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 in Carleton Place, Ontario after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Remembered by his three children: David (Gillian), Matthew (Dana) and Kaitlyn (Jay) and their mother Marybeth. He will be sorely missed by his grandchildren Cole and Rhys.
Survived by his two sisters Joyce (Bob) and Joan (Ronnie) and their children: Susan, Niall, Nicola, and Dianne.
David immigrated to Canada in 1973 from Scotland. He spent most of his life in Kincardine, working for Ontario Power Generation first as an electrician, then in various other roles in Control Maintenance for 30 years. He also worked at the Darlington Plant in Pickering and at AECL in Chalk River, doing contract work after his retirement.
A private celebration of life will be held before he is taken back to his homeland of Scotland to be interred.
