Siren Test set for July 9

A full volume public alerting siren test is scheduled for the Municipality of Kincardine on July 9.
The Municipality owns, operates and maintains nine public alerting sirens within three kilometers of The Bruce Power nuclear generating plan . The sirens are used to alert the public in the instance of an incident at the Bruce Power site.
The system is activated by the Municipality of Kincardine on behalf of the Bruce Power and the Province of Ontario and is a critical part of emergency preparedness.
The sirens will be tested on July 9th, 2019 between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
