Obituary – Alan Barker

ALAN BARKER

Charles “Alan” Barker of Kincardine, passed peacefully after a brief illness on January 30th, 2022, at age 86.

Al will be greatly missed by his loving wife Lynn and children Debbie Murfitt (Scott), Jodi Amis (Steve), Craig Crawford (Anne) and Darren Crawford (Tiffany); seven grandchildren, Christopher (Fanny), Chad (Ashley), Justin (Rosalie), Jenna and Aiden, Olivia and Phoebe, and four great-grandchildren Jane, Katharina, Logan and Arthur and many relatives and friends.
Al was a teacher, site supervisor in the house building industry, avid outdoorsman and traveller. Al loved all sports and enjoyed golf and cross-country skiing. Al and Lynn welcomed all family and friends to their wonderful home on Lake Huron in Kincardine for many gatherings and dips in the lake, visits to Inverhuron Park, Sommerville Golf Course, Blue Water Theatre and Saturday nights with the Kincardine Pipe Band.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Kincardine Hospital for their wonderful care and support during this difficult time.
A celebration to honour Al’s life will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Al’s chosen charities: the World Wildlife Federation, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.
