Kincardine Community Services is busy preparing for the 2022 Christmas Hamper Program. This program is designed to help individuals and families that may need a helping hand at holiday time to make their Christmas a little bit merrier.
They are transitioning away from a physical “hamper” of food and toys, to a gift card model. Recipients will receive gift card envelopes on December 9, by appointment. This allows sufficient time for each of them to purchase gifts and food, well before Christmas.
In order to receive a “gift card hamper”, an individual or family must be referred to the program through a helping agency (food bank, social services, school, church, etc.). The Tiverton Lions club and Ripley Lions club have programs that cover their area. If you aren’t sure which area you live in, please feel free call.
To make this possible, there are three options for the collection of donations:
• Monetary donations or gift cards to local business can be sent to treasurer, Rhodora Doughty, Box 527, Kincardine Ont. N2Z 2Y1. Cheques to be made payable to Kincardine Community Services Association. Receipts will be issued for any amount over $20.
• Cash, cheques or gift cards/vouchers to local stores can be delivered to Century 21 In-Studio Realty Inc. office, 330 Durham Market Sq. S., Kincardine (Monday to Saturday 9:30 – 4:30) now until Wednesday November 30.
• E-transfers can be sent to Kincardinehampers@gmail.com. Please ensure your name and full mailing address is in the “message” section if you would like an income tax receipt.
Feel free to contact Heather Finnie, Christmas Hamper Chair at 519-396-2001, if you have any questions.
