Station Beach will be closed for one of biggest weekends of Kincardine's summer season.
The Municipality issued a release at 1:45 p.m today (Friday) advising that Station Beach has been posted by the Public Health Unit due to high levels of bacteria. The water is to be retested on Monday, and if found to be below provincial bacteriological standards a second test will be completed Tuesday. If the second test meets the same standards, the posting will be lifted by the Health Unit.
The beach closure couldn't come at a worse time for Kincardine, with thousands visiting town for the 11th annual Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games.
