Welcome to the new Kincardine Independent

A brief overview of new website features
Section:
News

If you're one of the thousands who regularly visit independent.on.ca every week you're no doubt noticing many changes with the launch of this version of the site.

Over the last few months we have worked hard to make this new site more interactive without losing the aesthetic and content that users have come to expect from the Kincardine Independent. We had a large list of additions we wanted to make without sacrificing any of the features people are looking for.

You will find the main navigation along the top now; and the secondary navigation giving some new content including a list of the newest and most popular stories, polls, archives, and web exclusive content. Perhaps the biggest change will be the addition of new content to the site almost daily, as opposed to the traditional weekly launch. Stories will also no longer remain on the site for the week, but will stay on the site indefinitely.

The most exciting addition to the site is reader interaction. We invite you to create an account and get involved in the news around you as it unfolds. The addition of polls and comments related to stories allows your voice to be heard and discussions to develop.

So check out the new site and feel free to let us know what you think!

I can't wait to hear what

I can't wait to hear what people think about the new site!

Pretty Good!

I like the new look overall, I think I'll set this site to my home page.

New site

Congratulations. Fantastic improvement.

new site

It would be nice if the print on the new site was a darker colour so it is easier to read. The red shows up nicely but the stories are a grey that dosen't show up very well.
I enjoy checking up on Kincardine on line and what is happening there.
Thank you

Feedback

Hey Ann, thanks for the suggestion. In the next couple weeks we are going to look at implementing some of the suggestions we hear. That's definetly an easy fix that could help readers. Thanks for your constructive feedback. A website is a fluid thing that must evolve over time!
